<h1>India Updates Foreign Currency Conversion Rates for Exports Under Customs Act, 1962; New Rates Effective December 1, 2000.</h1> The Central Government of India, under the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 71/2000 to establish the exchange rates for the conversion of foreign currencies into Indian Rupees for the export of goods, effective from December 1, 2000. This notification supersedes the previous Notification No. 66/2000. The rates for various currencies such as the US Dollar, Euro, and Pound Sterling are specified in two schedules. For example, the exchange rate for one US Dollar is set at 46.70 Indian Rupees, while 100 Japanese Yen is equivalent to 42.15 Indian Rupees.
