<h1>Indian Residents Returning from Pakistan by Land Get Duty-Free Baggage Allowance Under Amended Baggage Rules, 1998</h1> The notification issued by the Government of India amends the Baggage Rules, 1998, specifically for individuals arriving from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bhutan. Under the amended rules, Indian residents and foreigners returning from Pakistan by land are permitted duty-free clearance of bona fide baggage as specified in Appendix B. Tourists of Indian origin from Pakistan by land route and foreign tourists from Pakistan are allowed to carry used personal effects and travel souvenirs for personal use, and articles up to Rs. 3000 for gifts. Tourists of Nepalese or Bhutanese origin have no free allowance.
