of <h1>Excise Duty Exemption Issued for Rifampicin Formulations Under Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985, Heading No. 30.03</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, has issued an exemption from excise duty for formulations of Rifampicin, including single ingredient formulations and those combined with Isoniazid (INH). These formulations fall under heading No. 30.03 of the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985. The exemption applies to medicaments containing these drugs, processed with or without pharmaceutical aids that do not affect the therapeutic activity. This measure is in the public interest and excludes substances not covered by the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. The term 'bulk drug' is defined per the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 1987.
