of <h1>Government amends Compensation Cess under section 8(2) of GST Act 2017, makes specified items Nil from 22 Sept 2025</h1> The Central Government, acting under section 8(2) of the GST (Compensation to States) Act, 2017 and on Council recommendations, amends Notification No. 1/2017 (Compensation Cess - Rate) by substituting 'Nil' in column (4) of the Schedule against specified serial numbers (including S. Nos. 2, 3, 4, 4A, 4B, 39-42, 47-55 and related entries). The amendments take effect on 22 September 2025.
