<h1>India Removes Mandatory Registration for Chip Imports Under Chapter 85, Streamlining Electronic Circuit Entry Process.</h1> The Government of India has amended the import policy conditions for certain electronic integrated circuits and parts under ITC HS Codes 85423100, 85423900, 85423200, 85429000, and 85423300, as outlined in Chapter 85 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule-1. The amendment, effective immediately, discontinues the requirement for compulsory registration under the Chip Imports Monitoring System (CHIMS) as per Policy Condition 8 of Chapter 85. This change has been approved by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and communicated by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.
