of <h1>Puducherry Added for Biometric Aadhaar Authentication u/r 8(4A) of CGST Rules, 2017 Effective July 31, 2023.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 27/2022-Central Tax to include the State of Puducherry for biometric-based Aadhaar authentication under rule 8(4A) of the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017. This amendment, effective from July 31, 2023, follows recommendations from the Council and adds Puducherry alongside Gujarat in the existing notification. The amendment was published in the Gazette of India and is part of ongoing updates to the Central Tax regulations by the Ministry of Finance, specifically the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs.
