of <h1>Income-tax Rules Amended: Rule 12 Updates and New Forms for ITR-1 to ITR-6 Effective April 2023.</h1> The Income-tax (First Amendment) Rules, 2023, issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes, amends the Income-tax Rules, 1962. Effective from April 1, 2023, the amendments include changes to rule 12, where the year '2022' is updated to '2023' in sub-rule (1) and '2021' to '2022' in sub-rule (5). Additionally, new forms will replace the existing ones for ITR-1 SAHAJ, ITR-2, ITR-3, ITR-4 SUGAM, ITR-5, ITR-6, ITR-V, and the Indian Income Tax Return Acknowledgement. These changes are part of ongoing updates to the tax rules.
