Central Government Cuts Special Additional Excise Duty on Diesel Exports to Nil, Effective January 3, 2023.

The Central Government has amended Notification No. 04/2022-Central Excise, dated June 30, 2022, to adjust the rates of Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) on exports of petrol and diesel. Specifically, the SAED on diesel has been reduced to nil. This amendment, issued under Notification No. 02/2023-Central Excise, is made in the public interest and will take effect on January 3, 2023. The amendment modifies the entry in the notification's table, replacing the previous rate with 'Rs. 5 per litre' for the specified entry.
