of <h1>Excise Duty on Diesel Reduced to Rs. 9/Litre Effective November 17, 2022, per Amendment to Notification 04/2022.</h1> The Ministry of Finance has issued Notification No. 39/2022-Central Excise, amending Notification No. 04/2022-Central Excise, dated June 30, 2022. This amendment, effective from November 17, 2022, reduces the Special Additional Excise Duty on diesel. Specifically, the duty is revised to 'Rs. 9 per litre' as stated in the amended entry for S. No. 2 in the notification table. This change is enacted under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Finance Act, 2002, in the interest of public welfare.
