of <h1>India Raises Basic Customs Duty on Gold Imports from UAE to 11.5% Under CEPA Agreement.</h1> The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, issued Notification No. 36/2022-Customs on June 30, 2022, amending a previous notification (No. 22/2022-Customs) dated April 30, 2022. This amendment increases the Basic Customs Duty (BCD) rate on gold imported under the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) of the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) from 6.6% to 11.5%. This change is enacted under the powers granted by the Customs Act, 1962, and is deemed necessary in the public interest.
