of <h1>New CBDT Notification: Adani Infrastructure Services Ltd. Debentures Classified as Long-Term Specified Securities under Section 54EB</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes has issued a notification specifying certain debentures to be issued by a public company as long-term specified securities under section 54EB of the Income-tax Act, 1961. These debentures, issued by Adani Infrastructure Services Ltd., must be purchased within seven years of the notification date and are non-transferable for seven years post-allotment. The investment must be made from the net consideration of a long-term capital asset transfer. If the debentures are transferred or converted into money within seven years, the initial investment will be subject to capital gains tax.
