<h1>Meghalaya GST Act 2017 mandates Aadhaar authentication for key personnel in businesses from April 1, 2020.</h1> The Government of Meghalaya, under the Meghalaya Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, mandates that certain classes of persons, including authorized signatories, managing and authorized partners of partnership firms, and the Karta of a Hindu undivided family, must undergo Aadhaar authentication to be eligible for GST registration. If Aadhaar is not available, alternate identification methods will be provided as per the rules. This requirement is effective from April 1, 2020, as per the notification issued by the Excise, Registration, Taxation and Stamps Department.
