of <h1>India Updates Composition Scheme Tax Rates per CGST Rule 7; Effective February 1, 2019.</h1> Notification No. 05/2019-Central Tax, issued by the Government of India, amends Notification No. 8/2017-Central Tax to align the rates for the Composition Scheme with the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Rules, 2017. Specifically, it replaces the previous tax calculation method with a rate specified in Rule 7 of the CGST Rules, 2017. This amendment, recommended by the Council, is effective from February 1, 2019. The original notification was published on June 27, 2017, and was last amended on January 1, 2018.
