of <h1>India Amends GST Notification: New Items Added, Exemptions for Sanitary Products and Rakhis, Effective July 2018.</h1> The Government of India, following the GST Council's recommendations from its 28th meeting, has amended Notification No. 02/2017-Central Tax (Rate) dated 28th June 2017. Effective from 27th July 2018, the amendments include the addition of new items such as sal leaves, vegetable materials for broomsticks, de-oiled rice bran, and deities made of stone, marble, or wood. Other changes involve exemptions for coir pith compost, sanitary products, and non-chapter 71 rakhis. Additionally, rupee notes or coins sold to the Reserve Bank of India or the Government of India are addressed.
