India's Finance Ministry Bars Public Servants from Revealing Data under Income Declaration Scheme 2016, Ensuring Confidentiality.

The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, issued Notification No. 56/2016 on July 6, 2016, under the Income-tax Act, 1961. This directive prohibits public servants from disclosing any documents, records, or computerized data acquired during official duties related to valid declarations under the Income Declaration Scheme, 2016. This measure is to ensure confidentiality as specified in Chapter IX of the Finance Act, 2016.
