of <h1>India Revises Excise Duty Rates on Tobacco Products per Notification 16/2016-Central Excise; Budgetary Changes Implemented.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 16/2016-Central Excise to amend the previous Notification No. 16/2010-Central Excise dated February 27, 2010. This amendment is to implement budgetary changes under the Central Excise Act, 1944. The notification revises the duty rates applicable to various categories of tobacco products, including chewing tobacco and jarda scented tobacco, based on their retail sale price and packing speed. It also updates the duty ratios for unmanufactured tobacco and other tobacco products, adjusting the applicable duties under various sections of the Finance Acts.
