Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations Expanded: ACMA and FCMA Now Recognized Qualifications Under 2016 Amendment
The Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2013, have been amended by the Central Board of Excise and Customs under the Customs Act, 1962. This amendment, effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, expands the list of qualifications for individuals handling customs work. Specifically, the qualifications now include ACMA and FCMA, in addition to the existing CA, MBA, and LLB. This change is formalized in the Customs Brokers Licensing (Amendment) Regulations, 2016, as detailed in Notification No. 01/2016-Customs (N.T.) dated January 5, 2016.
