of <h1>India Withdraws Excise and Customs Duty Exemptions for Defence Supplies Effective June 1, 2015, per Notification No. 23/2015.</h1> The Government of India has issued Notification No. 23/2015 - Central Excise, amending previous notifications No. 62/95 and No. 63/95, both dated 16th March 1995. The amendments withdraw excise and customs duty exemptions previously granted to goods manufactured and supplied to the Ministry of Defence by the Ordinance Factory Board and Defence Public Sector Undertakings. Specific entries in the original notifications are omitted, and these changes will be effective from 1st June 2015. This action is taken in the public interest under the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Additional Duties of Excise Act, 1957.
