Gold demand trends show central bank buying and OTC investment offsetting weaker ETF and jewellery demand.
Global gold demand remained broadly unchanged during the April-June quarter, with reduced gold exchange-traded fund, bar and coin investment offset in part by over-the-counter investment supported by Asian investors. Central banks and official institutions increased net additions to gold reserves, while high prices reduced jewellery volumes and encouraged demand for lighter products. Total supply was unchanged as increased mine production was offset by lower recycling. Investment is expected to drive future demand, while high prices may continue to constrain jewellery demand and recycling.

Citizenship proof requires more than identity, tax, electoral or banking records when nationality remains unestablished.
Voter identity cards, Aadhaar cards, PAN cards and bank-account records were treated as non-conclusive proof of Indian citizenship. The petitioner and detainee were required to establish citizenship under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, and an appeal against deletion from electoral rolls did not itself satisfy that burden. The inability to identify the burial locations of the detainee's parents prevented proposed DNA-based verification and supported an adverse inference concerning their citizenship.

Indian C&I segment looking for reliable power source using Solar + Battery storage New Delhi, 28th October 2025: The Indian energy storage market, particularly the battery energy storage systems (BESS) segment, is undergoing rapid growth driven by the country's ambitious renewable energy targets and the need for grid stability. The India Battery Energy Storage Systems Market is growing at an estimated CAGR of around 20-30% over the coming years, potentially reaching USD 30 billion by 2030-33. The market size was valued roughly USD 4 billion in 2024. Standalone energy storage systems (ESS) are emerging as critical assets to support India's power grid independent of renewable generation. These systems help balance the electric grid, provide peak shaving, and ancillary services.

With more than 50% price fall in Li-Ion batteries in last one year, making the business cases for C&I sector more lucrative. IPower Batteries has been installing multiple storage projects in northern part of India for various customers including school hospitals, restaurants, and hotels. With a 500 MWh dedicated manufacturing capacity at Sonipat for ESS production, IPower Batteries’ timely deliver and after sales service creates milestone in this industry. IPower batteries has already supplied ESS systems in various ranges including Low voltage battery segment - 12V, 24V, 48V (upto 15kWh) and High voltage battery- 24kWh, 48kWh, 60kWh, 100kWh upto 200kWh. IPower ESS’s plug and play ESS system is compatible to most of the inverters and already installed with key leading providers like Statcon Energiaa, Enertech, Eram Magnaflux, 3EM Power Technologies, Solis, Chint, Deye and others.

Mr. Vikash Agrawal, Managing Director, IPower Batteries expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minster Shri Narendra Modi for his “Panchamrit strategy, guiding India's net zero transition by 2070. In aligning the strategy of 500 GW of Non-fossil fuel plan and Energy Storage adoption across the electricity value chain from generation, transmission and distribution will help the grid to be cleaner” Mr. Agrawal also urged the Ministry to consider to add battery storage with rooftop solar under PM Suryghar Yojana for residential customer and to conceptualise new scheme for solar+BESS for Industrial and commercial consumers. There is an urgent need for clean electrification across the C&I sector and Batteries will be a key asset to achive it.

Mr. Agrawal said with appropriate financing, business model and government support, the C&I sector will adopt ESS faster than expected. Currently companies are paying very high price for Diesel usage and with ESS installation, The per unit price will cut down to 1/3rd of it.

Beyond C&I segment, IPower Batteries also provide ESS systems for home inverter & SOHO (small office and House Office) segment in the range of 5-20 KWh. This segment is seeing a shift from traditional lead acid batteries to long life lithium-Ion batteries. The major shift is seeing in Metros and Tier-1 & 2 cities.

Various state governments are also focusing on clean energy adoption and have started using solar+ ESS in local PHCs, schools, temples and cultural centres and government offices. Appropriate Support scheme will accelerate this segment. Mr. Agrawal also emphasised that that the proper testing and safety is very essential, with low quality battery cell floating in the market may create bottle neck for this industry growth. IPower Batteries with its central testing facility, safety guidelines and appropriate certification has made them a preferred choice for partners and customers.

Considering the market demand, IPower Batteries Leadership team is launching new high voltage ESS system in the Indian market. Mr. Abhay Agrawal, CTO, IPower Batteries is confident on industry acceptance of this new product due its special inhouse design, innovation and configuration made for Indian condition.

IPower Batteries will also be showcasing at the Renewable Energy India Expo being held at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida from 30th October to 1st Nov 2025 both as an exhibitor and showcasing its high voltage ESS system for Indian residential and C&I segment which will be a testament for Indian design for Indian environmental and temperature of these batteries making them suitable for various industrial and commercial applications. They also come with remote sensing, smart BM and control system for higher safety. IPower Batteries is committed to taking its Make in India capability with state-of-the-art technology, innovation, design and capability to a new echelon.

The government strongly supports energy storage through policies like the National Framework for Energy Storage Systems (2023), production-linked incentives (PLI) for advanced battery chemistry cells, viability gap funding (VGF) for standalone projects, and extended transmission charge waivers. The Central Electricity Authority projects energy storage capacity requirements rising from 82.37 GWh in 2026-27 to over 411 GWh by 2031-32, with further growth expected towards 2047 aligned with net-zero emission targets.

The commercial and industrial sector is at the major contributors of the GDP of India’s growth story, but it also accounts for a significant share of energy demand and emission. With Government’s push and vision towards green manufacturing, net-zero targets, India’s C&I sector is pivotal to driving the country’s clean energy transition. As one of the largest consumer categories of electricity and a significant contributor to national greenhouse gas emissions, it has the potential to lead decarbonization through renewable energy, advanced energy storage, and electrification. Industries and corporates are looking towards more reliable and quality power for the consumption and hence started installing captive solar and energy storage system fir 24X7 power supply. Many of the hotels, hospitals, restaurants, manufacturing establishments, shopping malls have already started using Lithium-Ion BESS systems instead of traditional diesel genset for back-up. By advancing storage solutions, and new technologies, the C&I sector can help build a resilient, low-carbon economy.
