Excise duty collections rose by 6.8%. Despite being slightly behind on excise and service tax, the finance minister expressed confidence in meeting indirect tax targets, citing a 31.6% rise in service tax collections to Rs 7,257 crore. Notably, the Delhi Service Tax Commissionerate recorded a 66% growth in service tax collections, significantly surpassing the national average.
