<h1>GST receipts jump 22.35% to Rs13,971 crore Apr-Sep FY26; penalties, blocked ITC and FIRs rise</h1> A northern state reported a 22.35% year-on-year rise in Goods and Services Tax receipts to Rs 13,971 crore for April-September FY26, up Rs 2,553 crore from the prior year, and recorded Rs 2,140.82 crore in September. Other indirect taxes-value-added tax and central sales tax-rose about 10%, and the state development tax grew 11% year-over-year for September. Tax enforcement intensified: ineligible input tax credit worth Rs 246 crore was blocked for 1,162 taxpayers, four major FIRs were filed alleging large-scale frauds, and penalty collections from inspections rose by 134% to Rs 355.72 crore.
