DGFT outreach urges exporters and MSMEs to use India-UK CETA for tariff cuts, simpler procedures and market access
The outreach programme by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade under the commerce ministry promoted the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) as a regulatory and market-access framework offering tariff concessions, simplified procedures and sector-specific opportunities for exporters and MSMEs. Government and UK trade officials, export promotion councils and industry representatives discussed compliance requirements-including sustainability, quality standards, supply-chain transparency and ethical sourcing-plus potential gains for goods and services sectors (agri-processed foods, textiles, engineering, IT, creative services). DGFT signalled ongoing support and guidance to help firms, especially SMEs, leverage CETA benefits and integrate into UK value chains.
