of <h1>Net direct tax receipts rise 9.18% to Rs 10.82 lakh crore through Sept 17; refunds down 24%</h1> Net direct tax receipts rose 9.18% year-on-year to Rs 10.82 lakh crore through Sept. 17, driven by higher corporate advance tax and lower refunds, while gross collections grew 3.39% to Rs 12.43 lakh crore. Refunds fell 24% to Rs 1.61 lakh crore; corporate advance tax rose 6.11% to Rs 3.52 lakh crore, non-corporate advance tax fell 7.30% to Rs 96,784 crore. Net corporate tax was Rs 4.72 lakh crore and non-corporate tax Rs 5.84 lakh crore; STT collections were broadly flat. The tax authority's FY26 direct tax target remains Rs 25.20 lakh crore.
