<h1>Drug pricing authority orders companies to pass GST cut to consumers, revise MRPs and notify retailers by Sept 22 2025</h1> A national pharmaceutical pricing authority directed pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers and marketers to pass on the benefit of a GST rate reduction to consumers effective September 22, 2025, by revising MRPs and issuing updated or supplementary price lists to dealers, retailers, state regulators and the government. Companies must promptly inform dealers, retailers and consumers through electronic, print and social media; industry associations were urged to run advertisements to ensure compliance. Recalling or re-labelling existing stock is not mandatory if retailer-level price compliance is ensured. The GST council moved major drugs from 5% to nil; items formerly at 12% were not shifted to 5%.
