State reports sustained counter-insurgency success, arrests and surrenders, rehabilitation incentives and development push to eliminate insurgency by March 2026
The state government reports a sustained counter-insurgency campaign has reduced Maoist activity through encounters, surrenders and arrests, seizure of IEDs and elimination of a senior insurgent, while launching rehabilitation incentives (monthly stipends, training, cash rewards, land) for surrendering cadres. Administrative measures include expanding security forces, creating local police units, infrastructure projects (schools, roads, bridges, electrification, mobile connectivity), land and rights regularization, and proposed major irrigation schemes for central funding. The government targets eradication of insurgency by March 2026 and seeks central designation for a large irrigation project to secure funding and legal status.
