Government unveils PLI schemes, logistics master plan and export hubs to boost manufacturing, streamline incentives and exports
The government has enacted a suite of trade and industrial policy measures-including Production Linked Incentive schemes across 14 sectors, a national logistics policy with an integrated master plan, industrial corridors, district export hubs, and e-commerce export hub pilots-to strengthen domestic manufacturing and boost exports. Institutional mechanisms at state and district levels (state and district export promotion committees) and procedures for pilot proposals have been established to streamline incentives, customs facilitation, and regulatory coordination. The measures implicate compliance requirements for incentive eligibility, procurement and export documentation, and potential treaty obligations via recently concluded and ongoing free trade agreements, with impacts on market access, investment flows, and supply-chain localization.
