<h1>Net direct tax collection drops 1.39% to Rs 4.59 lakh crore in April-June 2025</h1> Net direct tax collection declined 1.39% to Rs 4.59 lakh crore during April-June 2025 due to slower advance tax collection and increased refunds. Advance tax growth slowed to 3.87% compared to 27% in the previous year. Corporate advance tax rose 5.86% while non-corporate collections fell 2.68%. Refund issuances surged 58% to Rs 86,385 crore. Corporate tax collections dropped over 5% while personal income tax increased 0.7%. The government has collected 18.21% of its Rs 25.20 lakh crore direct tax target for fiscal 2025-26.
