<h1>Rail infrastructure allocations expanded to accelerate electrification, track construction and national rollout of train protection systems.</h1> Central budgetary allocations for rail infrastructure in 2025-26 have risen substantially compared with 2009-14, with enhanced funding targeted to states such as Delhi, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to accelerate track laying, station redevelopment, passenger amenities and metro expansion. The update highlights completion of electrification in several states with nationwide electrification targeted by year-end, accelerated track construction since 2014, and planned rollout of the train protection system Kavach with tenders progressed and installations underway.
