      The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for a barrel  slightly increased on 24.4.2012 to US$115.57 per barrel (bbl). The price was US$ 115.14 /bbl on previous trading day i.e. 23.04.2012.

      In rupee terms also, the crude oil price increased to Rs 6100.94 on 24.4.2012 as compared Rs  6013.76 per bbl on 23.04.2012. This was due to increase in crude oil price in dollar terms and rupee depreciation with rupee-dollar exchange of Rs 52.79 /US$ on 24.4.2012 against Rs 52.23 /US$ on 23.04.2012.
