<h1>India Launches Duty-Free Diamond Import Scheme for Exporters to Boost Global Competitiveness and Job Creation by 2025.</h1> The Department of Commerce, Government of India, has launched the Diamond Imprest Authorization (DIA) Scheme to boost the global competitiveness of India's diamond sector. Effective from April 1, 2025, the scheme allows duty-free import of Natural Cut and Polished Diamonds under 0.25 carats, with a 10% value addition export obligation. Eligible are diamond exporters with Two Star Export House status and annual exports of at least $15 million. Aimed at supporting MSME exporters, the scheme seeks to prevent investment flight, create jobs, and sustain the domestic diamond processing industry, countering export declines and job losses in the sector.
