Sanjaya Kumar Mishra as the first President of the GST Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) in New Delhi. This marks the operational start of GSTAT, a key body for resolving GST-related disputes under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. The Tribunal includes a Principal Bench in New Delhi and 31 State Benches across India. The GSTAT aims to provide swift and fair resolution of disputes, reducing the burden on higher courts and enhancing the GST system's effectiveness and transparency. Justice Mishra was appointed by a committee led by the Chief Justice of India.
