<h1>Biometric Aadhaar Authentication Pilot Launches for GST Registration in Gujarat and Puducherry.</h1> A pilot project for biometric-based Aadhaar authentication and document verification has been introduced for GST registration applicants in Gujarat and Puducherry. Under the amended Rule 8 of the CGST Rules, 2017, applicants are identified via data analysis and risk parameters. The system, developed by GSTN, was launched in Puducherry on August 30, 2023, and will be implemented in Gujarat on November 7, 2023. Applicants may receive links for OTP-based Aadhaar authentication or for booking appointments at GST Suvidha Kendras for biometric verification. The service is currently available in Gujarat and will expand to other regions soon.
