<h1>Cabinet Approves 4% Increase in Dearness Allowance and Relief for Employees and Pensioners, Effective July 2022.</h1> The Cabinet, led by the Prime Minister, approved a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance for Central Government employees and Dearness Relief for pensioners, effective from July 1, 2022. This decision is based on the rise in the All India Consumer Price Index. The financial impact is estimated at Rs. 6,591.36 crore annually for employees and Rs. 6,261.20 crore annually for pensioners. For the fiscal year 2022-23, covering July 2022 to February 2023, the cost is Rs. 4,394.24 crore for employees and Rs. 4,174.12 crore for pensioners, totaling Rs. 8,568.36 crore.
