Over the past three years, detected tax evasion cases and recoveries have been significant, with over Rs. 40,000 crore detected in 2019-20 and 2020-21 each. Measures to curb evasion include Aadhaar authentication for new registrations, registration verification, and suspension or cancellation of non-compliant taxpayers.
