This collection includes domestic transactions up to June 4, due to relief measures allowing delayed return filing amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The government settled Rs. 15,014 crore to CGST and Rs. 11,653 crore to SGST from IGST. Revenue for May 2021 is 65% higher than the previous year, marking the eighth consecutive month of GST collections exceeding Rs. 1 lakh crore, despite lockdowns. Revenue from smaller taxpayers is expected to increase after extended filing deadlines.
