Utilizing the NETRA analytics tool, authorities uncovered a network of fictitious firms used to produce and distribute fake Input Tax Credit (ITC) under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system. The accused admitted to creating a sham firm and facilitating ITC from 38 other fictitious entities. The fraud involves fake bills totaling Rs. 216.06 crore. The individual was charged under the CGST Act, 2017, and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody. Further investigations are ongoing.
