of <h1>Income Tax Return and Audit Report Deadlines Extended Due to COVID-19; New Deadlines in December 2020 and January 2021.</h1> The government has extended deadlines for filing Income Tax Returns and audit reports due to COVID-19 challenges. Returns for FY 2019-20, originally due by July 31, October 31, and November 30, 2020, have new deadlines: January 31, 2021, for audited accounts and international/domestic transactions, and December 31, 2020, for other taxpayers. Audit reports are due by December 31, 2020. Self-assessment tax payments for liabilities up to Rs. 1 lakh are extended to January 31, 2021, for audited cases and December 31, 2020, for others. A notification will be issued to formalize these extensions.
