of <h1>CBDT and CBIC Sign New MoU to Enhance Data Exchange, Replacing 2015 Agreement with GST and Tech Updates.</h1> A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) to enhance data exchange between the two organizations. This new MoU replaces the previous 2015 agreement and incorporates changes due to the introduction of GST and technological advancements. It facilitates automatic and regular data sharing, with provisions for additional information exchange upon request. A Data Exchange Steering Group will oversee the initiative, aiming to improve the effectiveness of data sharing. This agreement marks a significant step in cooperation between CBDT and CBIC.
