<h1>Digital Payment System Boosts Direct Transfers Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package, Aiding Millions During COVID-19 Lockdown.</h1> A digital payment infrastructure, integrating Jan-Dhan accounts with mobile numbers and Aadhaar, facilitates direct benefit transfers under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package. Launched in 2014, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana aims to provide banking access to the unbanked, with over 38 crore accounts opened. The system supports cash and digital transactions through various modes like AePS, Bhim Aadhaar Pay, RuPay cards, UPI, and BBPS. By April 2020, financial assistance of Rs. 28,256 crore was distributed to over 30 crore beneficiaries, including women account holders, farmers, NSAP beneficiaries, and construction workers, to mitigate COVID-19 lockdown impacts.
