<h1>India to Cut 20% of Sensitive Tariff Lines Next Month under SAFTA; Peak Tariffs for Pakistan to Drop by 2013.</h1> India's Union Minister for Commerce, Industry, and Textiles announced a 20% reduction in tariff lines under the sensitive list by next month, fulfilling SAFTA agreement requirements. By January 2012, peak tariff rates for imports from Pakistan will be 8%, further reducing to 5% by January 2013. India has already provided zero-duty access for 97% of tariff lines to SAARC's least developed countries. The South Asia Forum, hosted by FICCI and the Ministry of External Affairs, aims to enhance economic integration in South Asia, promoting discussions among stakeholders to improve SAARC's future development and regional economic cooperation.
