The Monthly Account of the Union Government of India up to the month of May, 2018 has been consolidated and reports have been published.
The highlights are given below :-
The Government of India has received ₹ 1,27,461 crore (7.01% of corresponding BE 18-19 of Total Receipts) up to May, 2018 comprising ₹ 1,02,408 crore Tax Revenue (Net to Centre), ₹ 24, 049 crore of Non Tax Revenue and ₹ 1,004 crore of Non Debt Capital Receipts. Non Debt Capital Receipts consists of Recovery of Loans (Rs.570 crore) and Disinvestment of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) (Rs. 434 crore).
Rs.1,11,578 crore has been transferred to State Governments as Devolution of Share of Taxes by Government of India up to this period which is ₹ 15,217 crore higher than the corresponding period of the last year 2017-18.
Total Expenditure incurred by Government of India is ₹ 4,72,954 crore (19.37% of corresponding BE 18-19), out of which ₹ 4,09,163 crore is on Revenue Account and ₹ 63,791 crore is on Capital Account. Out of the total Revenue Expenditure ₹ 73,606 crore is on account of Interest Payments and ₹ 88,689 crore is on account of Major Subsidies.
Union Government receipts composition shows tax and non tax proceeds driving fiscal transfers and central expenditure. Union Government receipts up to May 2018 comprise tax revenue (net to centre), non tax revenue and non debt capital receipts (recoveries of loans and disinvestment), while transfers to States as devolution of share of taxes and central total expenditure - split into revenue and capital accounts with interest payments and major subsidies prominent in revenue expenditure - constitute the major outlays for the period.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
