<h1>India's December 2017 Trade: Exports Up 12.36%, Imports Surge 21.12%, Trade Deficit Widens to $14.88 Billion.</h1> India's foreign trade in December 2017 showed significant growth in both exports and imports compared to December 2016. Exports rose by 12.36% in dollar terms, reaching $27,030.27 million, with major contributions from engineering goods, petroleum products, and chemicals. Imports increased by 21.12%, totaling $41,910.46 million, driven by petroleum, electronic goods, and gold. The trade deficit widened to $14,880.19 million from $10,545.99 million in December 2016. For April-December 2017-18, exports grew by 12.05% while imports rose by 21.76%, resulting in an overall trade deficit of $70,063.05 million. Services exports in November 2017 also saw an 8.76% increase.
