<h1>Cabinet Committee Approves Revised Ethanol Price to Boost EBP Programme and Reduce Oil Import Dependency.</h1> The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by the Prime Minister, approved a revised ethanol price of Rs. 40.85 per litre for the Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) Programme, effective from December 1, 2017, to November 30, 2018. This decision aims to ensure price stability and support ethanol suppliers while reducing crude oil import dependency and benefiting the environment. The EBP Programme, initiated in 2003, has expanded across 21 states and 4 union territories to promote alternative fuels. Previous ethanol pricing adjustments have significantly increased supply, addressing challenges faced by Oil Marketing Companies in procurement.
