The CBDT Chairman has emphasized the need to collect 20% of the net current demand, which amounts to Rs. 19,407 crore, by November 2016. The current demand raised was Rs. 97,033 crore after accounting for prepaid taxes of Rs. 59,410 crore. Regional targets include Rs. 7,285 crore for Delhi and Rs. 3,926 crore for Mumbai.
