<h1>EOUs' Export Share Drops, Misuse of Incentives Addressed with Penalties: 191 Cases in Four Years.</h1> The Export Oriented Units (EOUs) contributed significantly to India's exports over the past four years, with their share decreasing from 5.8% in 2011-12 to 4.45% in 2014-15. During this period, EOUs received various incentives and tax concessions, including CST/DBK/TED reimbursements and duty foregone, as part of the Foreign Trade Policy to promote exports. Instances of misuse of these incentives have been addressed with show cause notices and penalties, with 43 cases in 2011-12, 40 in 2012-13, 59 in 2013-14, and 49 in 2014-15. This information was disclosed by a government official in a written statement to the Rajya Sabha.
