Indirect Tax Revenue (Provisional) collections have increased from ₹ 1,48,588 crore in April-July 2013 to ₹ 1,54,350 crore during April-July 2014. Thus an increase of 3.9% has been registered during April-July 2014 over the corresponding period in the previous year.  Service Tax collections have increased from ₹ 43,693 crore in April-July 2013 to ₹ 50,850 crore during April-July 2014 registering an increase of 16.4%.

Indirect tax revenue increase driven by service tax growth, while customs and central excise remain subdued against budget targets. Indirect Tax Revenue (Provisional) collections rose modestly year on year for April-July, with service tax showing comparatively strong growth while customs and central excise were muted or slightly negative; figures are presented month and year to date with percentage growth and Budget Estimate achievement, and certain cesses are excluded from central excise totals.
