<h1>India's Indirect Tax Collections Surge 45.9% from April to August 2010, Driven by Customs and Excise Revenue Boosts.</h1> Indirect tax collections in India saw a significant increase of 45.9% during April to August 2010 compared to the same period in 2009, totaling Rs.124,170 crore. Customs revenue rose by 66.5% to Rs.51,866 crore, Central Excise collections increased by 41.7% to Rs.49,672 crore, and Service Tax revenue grew by 19.8% to Rs.22,632 crore.
