wrong information on salary income

rajul begani

sir,

I have e-filed my return on 18/02/2013 for FY 11-12.

MY salary income is 14  lacs.

I have erroneously submitted return considering salary from first employer RS.12 lacs and second employer Rs.1,10,000. there is understatement of around 80000. AS in IT website ITR V receipt status is not shown. how to correct the above error or should i just wait for the notice.

do  also advice me if the website shows ITR V received.

pls advice me as soon as possible.

Taxpayer Falsely Reports Salary, Seeks Correction Advice Under Income Tax Act's Section 154 for 2011-2012 Return. An individual mistakenly reported incorrect salary figures in their tax return for the fiscal year 2011-2012, understating their income by 80,000. They sought advice on how to rectify the error, noting that the ITR V receipt status was not visible on the income tax website. A Chartered Accountant advised resending the ITR-V and suggested revising the return before March 31, 2013, if filed within the due date, or submitting a rectification under section 154 of the Income Tax Act, 1961, using the e-filing portal.
