Manufacturing Bags with Corporate Logos: Clarification on Excise Duty Exemption and Branding per Notification 8/2003. A client manufacturing carry bags for corporate branding purposes inquired whether these products are considered branded, affecting their excise duty exemption status. Further discussion referenced various notifications and a circular clarifying that products bearing a corporate logo or name are not automatically branded unless they also bear a separate brand name. This distinction affects the applicability of excise duty. The discussion aimed to clarify the implications of branding on excise duty exemptions for the client. (AI Summary)
