whether an NRI can submit Form 15G or 15H for non-deduction of tax from his/her interest  earned from NRO rupee deposits.

Can somebody guide correct position.

NRIs Cannot Use Form 15G or 15H for Tax Exemption on NRO Interest Under Section 197A. An individual inquired whether a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) could submit Form 15G or 15H to avoid tax deductions on interest from NRO rupee deposits. Two responses clarified that according to Section 197A, these forms are intended for resident assessees only. Therefore, NRIs are not eligible to submit Form 15G or 15H for non-deduction of tax at source. (AI Summary)
